Delving in to more of Susan
Hello Again,
My diagnosis didn't just change my life, it almost ended it. First Fibro, then Osteo and rheumatoid arthritis and high blood pressure. It was devastating, the emotional and physical pain shut me down.
Finding a Dr to help me was the hardest part, so shutting down was easier. So if I went left, that would have been permanent and would cause my loved ones a great deal of pain, so I went right!! I searched and searched and finally I found the best pain Dr and for the last 14 years he and I are not only Dr and Patient but also friends.
Backing up, I found a new 'Normal' and the people who stayed with me and my loving family, they also found a new 'normal'. To this day I am on medication and go to see my Dr twice a month for trigger point injections, epidurals, IV treatments and Burning the nerves.
It was hard to let go of friends, a great job and simple daily things but I almost let go of myself. Day to day became not knowing how I would feel when I woke up.
I thank God I didn't go left and made the right choice and sometimes I grieve for my old self, but now with love, support, caring and compassion, as simple as that is, side by side with hard work I am here, nobody is alone and nobody should be. So i have decided to dedicate time that I have to be there for anyone else who is suffering and needs support.
Thank you for reading, and remember..
Take care of you!
